Major Albert Lambert bought the Kinloch Field, and turned to former corn field into an airfield by clearing, grading and erecting hangers at his own expense. Lambert was the first person in St Louis to obtain his pilot's license. He had trained with Orville Wright. This terminal faced Lindbergh Boulevard. It was opened in 1933, replaced by the new terminal in 1956, and torn down in 1979.
